This is my favorite cocktail! Yes, please, may I have another? It is so light, full of botanicals, and refreshing. I also add some St. Germain because I have a habit of putting it in nearly everything. I think the reason a lot of people don't like gin is because there are a lot of cheap ones out there. I mean, you can make it in your bathtub, right?
1 1/2 oz. quality gin (Aviation, Hendrick's, Sapphire Bombay, etc.)
1/2 oz. St. Germain (more to taste)
1/4 oz. lemon juice
1/4 oz. lime juice
Quality tonic (no high fructose corn syrup or other nasty stuff - try Q or Fever Tree - Fever Tree even has an elderflower tonic which goes very well here and you can reduce the amount of St. Germain)
Fill a high ball glass 2/3 with ice, add gin, St. Germain, lemon juice, lime juice, and top with tonic. Garnish, if you wish, with lemon and lime slices. Sip and be swept away to where everything is good and beautiful and refreshing.
